    Enough oomph in my PSU?

    Hello all,

I am looking at buying the below, relatively soon, I just wanted to make sure my PSU had enough ooomph to handle the below, plus a GTX260 and more than likely a Corsair H70.

    6GB (3x2GB) Corsair XMS3, DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24, 1.65V

    Intel Core i7 950 Bloomfield 45nm, 3.06 GHz, QPI 4.8GT/s, 8MB Cache, 23x Ratio, 130W, Retail

    Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2, Intel X58, S1366, SLi/Xfire PCI-E 2, DDR3 2200<, USB3 & SATA 6Gb/s

My current PSU is in my system spec <

    So, will it do?

You will need a 1.21 Jigawatt PSU

    It'll be fine :-)

It should manage it, aye. It's a decent quality PSU that so it will actually be able to do 520W.

TBH,I would think that your Q6600 still has some life left in it! After all Intel Ivy Bridge and AMD Bulldozer are being released next year and Intel Sandy Bridge will most like be a faster CPU than the existing socket 1366 Core i7 ones.

The Q6600 rig will be going to my sister as she is in dire need of a decent PC.
The upgrade to the i7 is just within my budget and will be my last update for a while, unless I magically come into more money.

If you did that though you'd never buy anything especially in technology.
