Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speaker System Question

    Hi guys

Ive been looking at buying these speakers for ages however my only concern is the bass control.

My understanding is there is 3 levels for bass you can adjust,im using Creative speakers at the moment that have a manual bass control which is ideal for controlling the bass.

What is the bass like using the 3 levels on the Acoustic Energy Aego i have to think of my neighbours and i dont want a really heavy bass when its on the minimum level which i assume will be 1 with these?

I suppos i could manually control the bass via my sound card?

Not sure if this will be of any help but I owned the evo3s for ages and never found bass boominess to be a problem... and yes, you could always turn the bass down in card.
    Cheers, David

Re: Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speaker System Question

In my experience it sounds best with the bass on the low setting. The Aego M doesn't go that low anyway and switching to med or high just boosts mid bass and ends up sounding boomy.

You may find the low setting is a tad to bassy depending on what your floor is made out of and shape of room. You can adjust on soundcard probably so shouldnt be an issue?

    Overall it's a fantastic sounding 2.1 system.

Re: Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speaker System Question

I've had a pair of these for years. Used to have them hooked up to my pc, but are now on my tv.

They are FANTASTIC little speakers, with excellent sound quality.

The bass switch on the back has min, normal and max. I've always had mine on normal and it's never been an issue.

AE have a ebay shop (acousticenergysales) for seconds etc, where I've sometimes seen these for a good price, but none currently.
