    Exclamation £350 Gaming Computer

I was wondering if there was a definitive source for computer builds on the internet or any rules/tips I should abide by to when selecting parts for a build. I've done 4 so far for friends and family and all of those have worked out fine but at the moment I'm doing one for another friend who just wants to spend £350 on the unit excl. Monitor, Peripherals, and etc. I want to try and get him the best gaming build for is cash so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

    Thanks in advance.

I did the same sort of thing earlier in the week, so this thread would be an excellent reference for you:

Actually that £400 includes your Monitor and additional bits I wanted to budget £350 purely on the computer. =[

read as many reviews as possible? Bit tech and Anandtech(?) have a monthly builders guide. Toms hardware has the best GPU for teh money guide. Anandtech has direct comparison for CPUs. Of course our very own Hexus for their stirling reviews and the concept of bang per buck scores.

Try and savea few pennies by getting stuff second hand? Buy last gen when the new gen is released; with 6ks from ATI/AMD coming up it may be a good time to get a cheap GPU.

ERU's build is a nice place to start.

Indeed, a 2nd hand 4850 is dirt cheap, and will run MW2
