if i need a new mobo .which one?

i think my mobo may be fried (asus a7n8x deluxe rev 2) and if it is ive had enough of this mobo's so i'm going to get either a nf7-s rev2 or the dfi lanparty
the trouble is i don't know which one to get. i'd like to try the nf7-s as they are class mobo's and ive read they struggle at fsb over 225(v mods n such are way out of my league) ive just got a 2500xp-m and 1 gig of top OCZ ram and the fsb of the dfi boards make me want to give them a try but i'm worried about all these cold boot stories and stuff about these boards
    what should i get
    please help

I would say the ABIT NF7-S. Havent heard things about them struggling over 225, maybe people needed BIOS flashes?

Anyway, thje DFI is a good board from what i have heard, but it has loads of compatibility problems.

Overall i would prefer to play it safe and go with an NF7-S.

Apart from the annoying noisy NB fan! Mine and my housemates both needed replacing, anyone else had this problem?

Though about the DFI infinity instead of the Lanparty? Much cheaper, iirc, and still very nice.

Of course you could wait until the nForce2 400GB starts to trickle down into retail, shouldn't be long. It's got the nForce3 250GB southbridge and although this means no soundstorm it does mean S-ATA raid an additional 2 USB ports and a few other things like Gigabit ethernet. Biggest benefit in my eyes is the S-ATA not running through the PCI bus which limits burst speeds to roughly 133mbsec really, whether you've got two raptors or two maxtors

If that still had soundstorm that would truly be a killer chipset.

i dont know if its my ram, but have dual channel twinmoss 2 x 256 meg strips. my 2500 xp is unlocked to! it's running nicely though at 2205,hz at 200 * 11

If the twinmos doesnt have the winbond chips then it may not be too good for overclocking and that could well be your problem. Shouldnt have thought that the board is the problem especially as you have changed the bios.
