    Water loop suggestions

As I have bought a Laing DDC 18W pump to replace my Bosch pump (interesting fact: it was designed to cool electric motors for wheelchairs\shop mobility scooters and kicks out more than 1300lph at full whack) and I never did get round to replacing my little river G4 waterblock, I was wondering what block is a good match for the DDC?

Also on a secondary note, I feel I should replace the 120mm led fans that came with my case as I am running 3 of them and they are not the best performers, neither is the antec tri cool I also have in the system (the papst on the rear rad is fine) any suggestions?

And finally can someone recommend a decent place to get 1/2" hose at a reasonable price? I can't seem to find anywhere.

    Re: Water loop suggestions

I am so far seeeeeriously impressed with my ek supreme hf full copper block. Even with just a single 120mm fan/rad it's capable of cooling the CPU down to just 1 degrees above ambient at idle (Core2Duo 2.66) and ~10 degrees above ambient at full load.

That impresses the heck out of me!!! Imagine what it could do with a 480mm rad/fans!!

Another good thing about it is that it has interchangable water plates so that if you have a very strong pump you can set it up for maximum cooling with more flow resistance, or if you have a weak pump you can set it up for less cooling and less resistance to help your pump. That's pretty handy!

    Re: Water loop suggestions

if you got the money get the ek supreme HF, you wont be disappointed unless you have a dodgy 45nm chip with an nvidia board or something as they report back totally incorrect temperatures (mine hits 60 apparently on load with a 360mm rad and ddc 18w... where as i was getting less than that on air but have reseated many times and even used a different waterblock with no affect.)

But yes, awesome cooler. If you want to replace your fans then go for it, noise is important so changing out poo ones can help, id recommend the yate loons DS12SL (1300rpm fans) or the DS12S-12M(1600rpm), the latter is better if you have a fan controller or something as you can then set a higher speed if you ever need to but i have the former and they are solid performers and incredibly cheap... i cant hear them and they keep my radiator cool when thats keeping the water to 0.5C above ambient .

edit: And tubing... id say just get some XSPC branded tubing, they are like £2 per meter, the cheaper stuff (e.g non branded ebay stuff) is ok but you generally notice that the integrity of the tubing is far worse, so your more prone to kinks and that harms performance by loads . If you find XSPC stuff on ebay it might be worth it as most postage from say scan or specialtech will basically make buying tubing alone very expensive .

    Re: Water loop suggestions

The pick of the water blocks @ this time is the EK-Supreme HighFlow CPU Block & my personal favorite is the Acetal/Nickel version.

As for fans, the performance V noise winner are the Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm but they are very expensive.

I am using the YateLoon DS12SL (a good mix of performance, noise & cost)

ChilledPc have a large selection of XSPC tubing & the postage is not very reasonable.

I used xspc 7/16" tubing in my last build & I was very happy with it.
