If its on eof these then yes; its the same as the one that came with my Phenom II x2.

HAHAHA looks the same as the stock one my phenom II x3 720be came with. The fan is 80mm right!?
I suppose it is just cheaper for them to make one heatsink and ship it with all of their processors
Well, it looks similar enoughSurprised they would use the same HSF though.
I've got some MX-3 lying around as well so i'll replace the stock stuff.

Yup, the stock HSF for the Sempy 140 is pretty weedy-looking, but does a great job. Whipser quiet 80mm fan, although the heatsink must only be ~ 35 - 40mm tall.
If you're worried, you could always undervolt the Athlon II X2 - When I took my unlocked Sempy (essentially a 65W X2) down to 1.05V it drew less power at load than as a 45W single core at stock volts...
I'll splodge some MX-3 on there anyway and if need be just have the fan running @ 100% constantly, it's fairly quiet as you say.

Well, I've got my Sempron in an Antec Aria and I can't hear the CPU fan without taking off the side panels, so I'd say whisper quiet is probably an accurate descriptionOnly thing that actually produces any noticable noise on that rig is the DVD drive...

I changed the stock cooler within a week to a Scythe Ninja (I think it was) which is silent.
Actually, they're a beautiful steel, plastic and possibly aluminium laminate which I believe is designed to be sound deadening (if not soundproof) - this probably helpsThe Aria must have concrete walls
Looking on Scan's website i may just get the CM 212+ to be safe, seems a decent 120mm tower cooler for £17.
