Hi guys.
Small question. I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A10 laptop. Ive upgraded the memory to 512mb, and its packing a 2.5ghz CPU.
The only thing i think that is slowing the machine down is the HDD. Does anyone agree with me that "upgrading" the 4200rpm disc ive currently got to a 5400rpm 8mb cache disc will improve performance on this machine?

yes...it will boot the speed up to 130%...i reckon...
thts what the speed difference on a new powerbook with 4200rpm n 5400 rpm HDD
It'll probably reduce the battery uptime a bit though...
Still, sounds like a fair tradeoff.
Also, a fresh windows install might help.
The faster RPM HDDs claim NOT to impact battery life, but of course YMMV.
I'm gonna get one of the 7200 RPM ones as soon as I can afford...should make the whole machine a load snappier.

yeah shaved about 30mins of the battery but i tihnk its still coolio

Kezzer, unless you ghost from the old to the new, which is what I might do..probably not though...
