    Nortbridge push pins

Just received my components for my new build.

As I was seating my Gigabyte 880GMA-UD2H i noticed the north bridge is loose.

It is held down by two push pins. The push pins can obviously be pushed down but in terms ofthem "clicking in" thats about it.

Does the northbridge have paste or anything under it?
Should it be loose or semi loose?
Do those push pins click into anything else?

    Thanks

Mine is a mess too. I hoped they would have fixed this by now. I pulled my HS off and found the the NB chip is about 1cm x 2cm with the heatsink slapped straight on the top. The push pins are so far away from the chips surface that that the 'wobble' is impossible to fix. They just slap on loads of paste instead.

So nothing to worry about, its tight sometimes but movements cantmake it a little loose?

    Carry on with build?

    Re: Nortbridge push pins

As long as its flat it should be okay, the springs in the pushpins privide some force to provide contact.
