New build, No Display, Pitch Change after 5 seconds

Hi all, putting my parts together today and after a nightmare with bays etc ive finally got it all together.

    Problem is:

Im getting no display, psu, cpu, case fans all spinning. My gfx card fans start spiining but then stop after a few seconds and I never get a display.

Any ideas why this is, I have made these checks so far:

1: All mobo has its power (main power and the 8 pinc connector power)
2: GFX card has both psu PCIE-16x power connectors connected
3: Tried both Dvi pots on the graphics card
4: Card isplaced in the 16x pci-e slot and not the 4x
5: The ddr3 ram is placed in slots 1 and 3
6: Gfx card blocks 4/6 of my sata slots so can only u the bottom two sata ports for my hd and cd/writer

Side notes. Im using this ram but 2x2gb http://www.shopmania.co.uk/shopping~...p-8979139.html.

    And using a Gigabyte 880GNA-UDH2

    Any ideas guys???

Try running just onboard GPU for a sec.
Turn on with only 1 stick of RAM installed, try both sticks, and in all DIMM slots, tends to cause instability on a new system if you just shove in 4gb.

Do you know anyone willing to let you cannibalise their system so you can swap bits in and out? Would be the easiest way to find the problem, or at least narrow it down.

yeah it does support 1600mhz but even if it didn't then it wouldn't matter, it would just lower the speed. You've tried bootign with 1 dimm right? Monitor maybe dead?
    is it POSTing (beeping).

Only thing I can suggest is pretty much what Nobbler said earlier but unplug your IDE/SATA devices too.

You're using the standoffs for the mobo? Only other thing without swapping bits out is to try builing it outside the case.

With a straight face; no. If I got Nibbler mixed up with Nobbler rather than Nobbler and Nibbler it would not make it any easier.

Many apologies; a genuine spelling mistake and no offense intended.

Re: New build, No Display, Pitch Change after 5 seconds

If you've tried removing the graphics card and using the onboard graphics and it still fails, then I obviously there's a problem between the CPU, motherboard, RAM and PSU.

It's quite unlikely it's the CPU (failures of them are very rare now), and most RAM errors tend to show up in instability, though not always. Have you tried removing all but one stick (try another stick in a different slots too)?

Personally I'd be looking straight at the motherboard or PSU and leaning towards the motherboard.

If you've no means of swapping parts yourself, I suspect you're going to have to arrange some RMAs.

If you bought everything from one supplier, it's probably worth sending the lot back for the shop to test themselves. Scan tested a combination of CPU, motherboard and RAM when I was unsure what was wrong with mine - in my case it was both the motherboard and 1 stick of RAM which was faulty.
