    Slow boot/post time.

Hello, my specs are as follows:

Asus P6X58D-E (tried all BIOS versions)
    i7 830
    corsair 6gb ram
    corsair HX620 psu
    corsair H50 cooler
    ATI 4870

Now I have has this issue for a while and although it is not a large issue, it is quite annoying.

When I power on the pc it takes 15 seconds for the BIOS screen to show up.

Any ideas what is causing this?

    Regards.

Tried disabling Express Gate in the BIOS?

I have the same motherboard as you and it isn't the fastest in the world to post to begin with but disabling the Express Gate sped it up for me.

I think it's probably just the way things are and nothing to worry about, I can time mine though if you want to compare to be sure?

Sure that would be grand. I have a SSD coming tommrow so that should help the rest of the boot time. Just the post is slow :s.

    Re: Slow boot/post time.

You could (if you have not allready) put it on quick error check or fast error check.

    Re: Slow boot/post time.

    You were correct,

18Secs from pressing the power button to getting the ASUS BIOS logo on screen, so I guess thats just how it goes.

    Re: Slow boot/post time.

Just for info purposes on my AM3 with express gate disabled

14 seconds from on to ASUS BIOS

45 seconds in total to password screen
Of course I'm perfect you just need to lower your expectations.
