    All I want for christmas....

...is a new set of computer components!

    So:

Windows 7 worth getting if I'm looking to kick my 32-bit system into the wierd and wonderful world of 64-bit? This would be to let me use up those shiny RAM sockets for 8GB of RAM, so someone suggesting some PC-6400 RAM would be great too

I've got an aTi HD3650 atm, which has worked quite nicely for 2 or 3 years (maybe even 4... I forget...) but it's crashing whenever I load up various games, which is quite annoying. It's also struggling to cope with the shiny new 2x Acer P502H 21" Monitors I've got.. something about 2 monitors seems to disagree with it at a fundamental level... so as my graphics card is slowly dying, could someone kindly tell what graphics cards are there at the moment on the market that don't hit the £200+ bracket (I have money, but I'm not limitless Check the bottom of my post for budgetting)

In terms of what I spend my life doing, it can be summed up as Facebook, EVE Online and a few games like Just Cause 2, Half Life 2, Portal, the occasional bit of Overlord or Oblivion, the odd speedrun of Crysis.. nothing particularly strenuous

My current system should be in the side bar

    <----------- It's over there if you're curious

If it isn't, it will be shortly after I make this post

Budget wise... lets say you've got £400-500 of my money to spend

    Burn the money!

Scan, Misco or Ebuyer or any other reputable site fine! I have no idea if the scanlove is still around on this site, but I'd guess so

Re: All I want for christmas....

This is what I would look at getting:

Antec 520W High Current Gamer PSU ~ £60

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/245671

    1GB Gigabyte HD 6870 ~ £183

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-g...-d-hdmi-minidp

    4GB 1600MHZ DDR3 ~ £46

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/234975

    Intel Core i5 760 ~ £145

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/229999

    Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3 ~ £89

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/194679

It would be useful to know what motherboard you have as you maybe able to upgrade to a Phenom II X4. It seems that the Phenom II X4 955BE is out of stock at many places now.

OTH,you should hopefully be able to drop in the following processor into your motherboard:

    http://www.cclonline.com/product-inf...oduct_id=56515

However, this is dependent on whether your motherboard can support 125W processors. Since the CPU is OEM you will need to buy a cooler.

You can then add another 2GB of DDR2.
