    Reinstalling graphics card

After a period without use, I am now going to resume use of my GTS250 graphics card. However, I have some problems with this, as the Arctic Cooling Accelero cooling system that I have been using has been removed, and as such I have two problems:

    1. Memory coolers have lost their adhesiveness, what would be the best way to reattach these to the card?

    2. GPU and heatsink both have dried thermal paste remaining on them, would I need to clean this off and reapply new paste?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

    1. Something like this. If you clean off the old tape with some evaporating solvent and then a pencil rubber to remove any grease before applying they awill stick better.

    2. Yes, and I presume there will be a little dust buildup too. Again, isopropyl alcohol or some ethanol will do the trick. There must be plenty of posts out there for ideas. I would avoid nail polish remover personally after knowing what it does to plastic.

The Akasa cleaner is good for taking off paste but doesn't always work on the graphics card RAM, last card I tried it on the adhesive was dried on. You might have to scrape the glue off carefully afterwards.
