    Upgrades

After an unfortunate incident earlier in the year I had to upgrade my PC

    I went with the GigaByte X58A-UD5A, Core i7 920, Corsair 850w PSU, WD Black 2TB and 12GB of Corsair XMS3 PC10666 DDR3 Memory.

    I am looking to upgrade with a second WD Black 2TB (for RAID 0), 2x GTX580s, a Lian-Li PC-X2000 and a Kingston SSDNow 256gb SSD drive.

Any comments on the case and the SSD? I am looking to install Win 7 x64 and dual boot with Ubuntu.

    Regards

    Mark

    Re: Upgrades

Looks like a great case.. get one for me too. 2000 = the height of it presumably.

Crucial C300 256GB SSD or 2xIntel 120GB. Kingston haven't brought anything interesting to the world of SSD drives as far as I know. They have V, V+ and V+100... sorry they bring confusion to the party.

    Re: Upgrades

    I second ed^chigliak by recommending the c300 256gb.

With regard to the case ... I think the x900 looks nicer but there you go!

    Re: Upgrades

    Thanks ed^chigliak and c.ruel.

The Crucial C300 is a lot cheaper too Means I save £200 on the build.

Is there any point in RAID 0 with SSDs?

    Re: Upgrades

Yes if you want to see big benchmarks, like to experiment and don't mind loosing TRIM functionality. Not really of you just want your PC to feel snappy and be done with it.
