    Recomend me some speakers

Looking to upgrade my Creative GigaWorks T40's, whilst these are great speakers there lacking a bit on the bass which is to be expected as they have no sub.
Not really looked at the PC market for a while, looking for a 2.1 set, no real room for 5.1's.
Last I looked the Razer Makos looked the top of the pile but it seems these are now end of life?

Also had a look at the Asus Xonar range of cards but got confused, From what I can tell the Xonar Essence ST is the king atm, Couldn't tell what the difference between that and the STX was other than the ST can accept the daughter board which enabled 5.1 output?
It does seem to be marketed at the high end audio market than gamers, does it loose any gaming related functionality or is it just that its a step up and they think Gamers wont be interested?

    Thanks in advance.

    Sod all the PC crap.

Buy some 2nd hand small monitors + midfi amp. I'll blow away everything that comes with a stupid PC oriented name.

I have no experience with professional audio products so wouldn't know where to start there.

    Re: Recomend me some speakers

If all you want is some more bass, it might be worth just grabbing a cheap 2.1 set and chucking the 2.0 part of it in the bin.

T40s plus a cheap sub would make a decent combination, and would be a heck of a lot cheaper than buying a brand new 2.1 system to match the T40s in quality.

    Re: Recomend me some speakers

No room on my desk for anything that big, Just to clarify its not just more bass I am looking for but a better overall audio experience, much higher spec all round essentially.
Looks like I will be going for the Xonar Essence ST so I want some speakers that will do the card justice.

an amp will last you years....
else get the Acoustic Energy AEGO 2.1 the sub will sit under your desk, there proper monitor style speakers (heavy)

there quite old but if it ain't broke it don't need fixing..

in my opinion i personally don't rate "pc speakers"
