    Some reviewers have commented on poor application of thermal paste and have recommended that overclockers apply their own. Can't comment on how often this has arisen.

    Not everyone, however, wants to remove an extensive heatpipe-linked cooling system from a £300 motherboard.

    Alot of manufacturers boards have this problem with the thermal paste, So it is not just an Asus thing.

    I've not read any of the replies, but personally I'm not that keen on Asus as they churn out so many variations of each model/device that they are unable to support all of them.

    If unlucky your item can be made end of life very quickly, with no chance of future support such as firmware/BIOS update. So I'd prefer a more focus company that have less variety of models to keep on top of.

    All manufacturers produce new models which make the current ones obsolete.

    I once bought a new model board from MSI, both MSI and Nvidia dropped support for it very quickly. That is how this market works unfortunately.

    But, In general that is how all computer parts seem to be with support. Like when companies won't release new drivers for Windows 7 even though they could because then it means people have to go buy a new model soundcard or whatever the device.
