    Quiet PC Case

Looking to replace my Sugo as my HTPC case with a full tower case as the Sugo does very little for noise/vibration suppressing

Looking to get a full tower case, Looking at the P183 but it's very expensive all things considered, looking at the Fractal R3

Any other suggestions? Needs to be fairly inoffensive style wise so no LAN cases

    Re: Quiet PC Case

I was under the impression the Fractal is meant to be quiet but a bit pants cooling wise - maybe getting some other fans will resolve this though.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.

    Re: Quiet PC Case

I have the fractal R3, amazingly quiet and has no heat issues with my i7 950 nor my GB GTX460 OC which does not exhaust externally. I added two SilentEagle 120 fans to it in addition to the 2 pre-fitted fans which are also very very quiet. I have now built several PC's with the Fractals, two r3's and the rest R2's and every owner has been shocked at how quiet a decent spec PC can be I like the HD mounts which have rubber gromets to manage vibration

The Fractal R3 isnt what I would call a full tower, the Fractal XL fills that spot. Fractal also have a mATX case that can handle 6 or so HD's which is a nice option if ur mobo fits although its a bit pricey

I have the XL and its nice and quiet. You can choose to substitute noise padding for fans as well

    Re: Quiet PC Case

I went from a SUGO to an Antec Fusion case - heavy and only takes a MATX motherboard, but well built with good feet and other little tricks to reduce noise and aid cooling, would recommend it.

My neighbor has a fractal design r3 which is excellent. Check some reviews on youtube.

Sounds good but I need a case that will fit a full size atx motherboard as I'm switching from my itx ion board to my p35 as I don't want to use a sound card and need spdif or coax output and another motherboard bumps the price up higher

Going to have an underclocked e6600, a low end ati card and tv tuners, nothing massively hot

The Zalman MS1000-HS2 has attenuated side panels as does the Silverstone Fortress FT01 non-window model.

Upper budget is £100 (possibly a little more if it's a very good case)

Problem is aluminium is rubbish at stopping noise

No stock on the R3/XL currently either last time I checked
