£250 system (excluding hdd & monitor)

Hi,

Please can someone spec me a system with a £250 budget.

It does not need to include hdd, monitor, keyboard/mouse.

I would like a quiet system in a small tower case. The system will be used for web browsing & microsoft office.

Are there any lower power consumption CPUs available with similar performance?

I forgot to mention I need a DVD combo drive too.

Any dvd drive for around £12 will be fine. Uhhm, not too sure, but these CPUs use very little electricity at stock clocks tbh, and Cool and quiet will clock it down to save even more pennies.

I normally would recommend an AMD based system but a Shuttle SFF system should also do the job IMHO.

The total comes to around £242. The Shuttle motherboard already does have Intel integrated graphics so if you want the build to be nearer to £200 this can be used instead. OTH,the HD5450 will have better media decoding abilities.

The AMD builds mentioned before will be more powerful and have a better upgrade path IMHO,but the Shuttle based system will be much smaller.
