Well ive seen a couple of thread about SSD recently but havent really come to a conclusion as they all seemed to just discuss about whether to get one or not... Ive got money set for an SSD now which is £100 (less is better ofc but my budget is semi flexible, suggest something above or below and ill look).
I recall news of intels new SSD's soonish or have i remembered incorrectly? I could wait awhile but my pc is terribly slow and after numerous formats and 2 different drives, im beginning to think i need an SSD (i can always hear my drives ticking over reading... annoying lol).
Ill be using this SSD as the boot drive so my OS/ Office/Visual studios/ Firefox/ Odd game, 60gb should be alright id hope?
Im a bit stuck with what to get currently though, so far i have these listed:
Crucial C300
Corsair F60
OCZ Vertex 2E
Now they are all pretty similar in pricing so thats not a problem but its hard to decide between all the different options. The corsair and ocz are pretty similar in design and use the same controllers and so basically what ever is cheapest out of those 2 are best right? Now i remember hearing a fair amount of complaints/problems with these drives after a bit of use, stuttering and just generally quick crap build up making it crawl to a halt. If these are still apparent then i dont think id want one but what experiences have you guys had with these drives (if you had one)?. Now the c300 seems like a solid ssd, yes the write speed is average at best but the read speed seems to make a huge difference and there doesnt seem to be any problems compared to the other 2. Since im using it as a boot drive, would the write speed hinder overall performance much?
Im still looking for reviews but id like some help coming to a decision if you guys could spare a minute!. The crucial 128gb drive looked like the best drive but its a shame its £190 :(.
