Quick healthcheck of newbuild

I bought this prebuilt bundle from Aria consisting of Phenom x6 1055T, Asus M488TD-V EVO and 4gig Muchkin Silverline

Now they overclocked it to 3.8gig and guarantee it can do that, it's come with an OCZ Gladiator cooler, quite big heatpipe thing, but the fans noisy unless i get the motherboard to control it a bit

I have no idea what safe settings are for a Phenom x6 so was wondering if someone could give me a quick bit of help glancing over them

It seems stable enough, but I'm getting the odd glitch here and there, also last night it just randomly stopped working, had to hit reset button and when it started it had shut off one of the cores :S
Turned it back on in bios and seems to be fine, Prime95 heats it up pretty quickly mind you

Here's what theyve done to it according to CPU Z (Aria shipped it with these settings):

CPU V: 1.39 - 1.4v
FSB x Multi = 272 x 14
HT = 2720
DRAM frequency is 544mhz, timings: 9-9-9-24-20-1T

It's curruently sitting at 34C typing this and downloading some stuff

Seem healthy? (I have no idea!)

Shouldn't you also post your problems up on the Aria forums if you haven't ?

34c idle seems fine for your overclock and voltage. The random hangs/freeze are possibly an issue of contention but without knowing your full computer uses i can't say whether its something you've done wrong, not that I'm calling you an idiot ofc.

The NB speed seems high in the sense that most people try and keep it low for stability purposes on AM3 CPU's - but this isn't my area of know how.

Edit: Post your issues up on Aria and get Martin to give you settings/voltages a look over. He tends to be the AMD guru on there.

This was my first thought, tbh. Most AM3 platforms are designed to run the HT speed up to 2.6GHz, and yours is running at 2.72GHz. It'd be the first thing I'd think about changing if it was my rig. There should be a HT mutlipier somewhere in the BIOS, I'd personally set that to 8 or 9 for a HT between 2.0 and 2.6GHz.

In fact, if you check the HyperTransport specs, the maximum frequency for a HT 3.0 link is 2.6GHz, so I'd definitely dial it back one notch...

FSB is called the HT ref. clk now.

The HT or HTlink as you call it should be held at about 2000; people report this does not really improve anything afaik and may help to solve the possibility of it being a stability problem. The CPU-NB is what you want running high. Definately with Jim on this.

With respect to your temps you should find out what it levels out at in prime. I think max temps are 62C. they are on my PII C2. you can hover over the stop button if it gets too close.

Whats the ram rated at? Am I right in thinking its effectively running at 1088? Your timings are very loose.
