    upgrade

    hello all,

a m8 wants to upgrade his pc for games, mainly flight & boat sims, budget about £350.

    was thinking about,

    cpu - xp2600 barton + fan,
    ram - 512mb crucial ddr400,
    graphics ?
    case - nothing flash,
    motherboard - asus a7n8x-x / gigabyte ga-7n400-l,

as you can see not to sure about graphics & motherboard or would you go for more ram & change something else, does any of you play alot of flight sims & what sort of system is needed to get the best out of these games + other new games.

    any advice

    thanks alot

CPU - Barton 2500+ for simple and easy overclocking or Mobile Barton 2500+ if you really want to push the chip.

Motherboard - Abit NF7-S, has onboard sound and LAN, as well as great overclocking abilities and fairly cheap.

RAM - Depends on whether you're overclocking. Prices are pretty high at the moment.

Graphics - ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb, great card for relatively small money.

Case - Not really sure, can only recommend the Chieftec Dragon since I have it!

And most 9800 pro's overclock to XT speeds without much trouble. I had a cheapo Connect one that did no probs, with stock cooling.
