Extremely budget PC =< £300 without the screen...

    As per title.

What is the best PC I can get for around £300 mark, without the screen?

Looking for something for my cousin - he isn't really a hardcore gamer but won't mind odd gaming session a month.

Main use - uni student to do his work i.e. essays etc.

    Recommendations?

Been looking at 3XS but the cheapest one is £380 all in which is over the budget.

    Thanks,

    Adrian

I assume you are looking at a pre-built PC??

Here are a few Dell PCs for under £300:

    Just toting up on scan

    LN27738 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair XMS3 Classic, DDR3 PC3-10666 (1333) Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 9-9-9-24 £40.88

    LN32057 AMD Athlon II X2 255, Regor, Dual Core, S AM3, 3.1GHz, 2MB Cache, HT 4000MHz, 65W, £47.29

    LN35508 Gigabyte GA-770T-D3L, AMD 770, AM3, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), DDR3 1666(OC), SATA 3Gb/s, SATA RAID, ATX £50.96

LN36262 400W Antec High Current Gamer. 80Plus Bronze, 135mm Quiet Fan PSU £45.80

    LN36408 1GB XFX HD 5770, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), 4800MHz GDDR5, GPU 850MHz, 800Cores £99.37

    Total
    £293.69

And that's still missing HDD + Dvd + case
If you don't mind 2nd hand you can save a good chunk on the graphics card.

If I can I would prefer not do go the pre-build route.

I think £99 for GPU is overkill in my case.

Gonna get something second hand for ~£30 max.

    Any recommendations on case/hdd/dvd ?
