    XfX or Asus?

    XFX 6850 Dual Fan
    Vs.
    Asus 6850 Direct Cu

    Which is best?

The dual fan looks better and seems like it has better cooling, but the Asus looks to perform better.

I would like quiet, cool but still fast.

Not sure the lifetime warranty applies outside the US.

That could be an issue, i think i will go ASUS, my motherboard is ASUS so drivers may be a bit easier and less problems maybe, it may match better

It's just a personal view, but some of the things I've seen about XFX, mainly over support, mean I will not buy any of their products, period. They are on my "not with a bargepole" list.

    Re: XfX or Asus?

Of the XFX products I've owned:

8800GT Alpha Dog - had to underclock the memory to make it stable
650i Ultra Motherboard - randomly wouldn't boot, even build out of case. Would apply overclock and then decide to fail 2 months down the line. Reset to defaults and it still won't boot. Apparently it was an overheating issue that affects lots of 650i Ultra boards.
A friends 5870 would randomly get grey screen of death, sometimes after hours, sometimes after a few minutes in any game. Took weeks to arrange a return.

I will never buy XFX again, and I would suggest anyone else do the same to be honest.

Asus! Only had 1 XFX item ever, it didn't work, and was a saga getting it resolved.
