Ram for P4P800
 Cannot discover the answer to this anywhere, Asus support will take weeks to get back to me. Spent hours and hours searching FAQ's etc for the answer. Simple question.... Will my board (P4P800) take any RAM over 3200? Site states "2100/2700/3200", but I need better RAM, and want 4000 if possible. Thanks in advance

it will no doubt take the ram just like most other boards, but of course as the board supports 3200 out the box and you want higher the mobo will run it at 3200 unless you start clocking you will have a load of head room on a 3200 board using 4000 memory :D

Recommendations on RAM then? I need to bump this CPU over 3GHz if possible. Its a very cool CPU (currently 36 oC), seems to be clocking well. I was going to sell it, but i think I'll keep it now. If I can get a P4c 3GHz for nothing, why buy one? Look, you guys got me clocking now! Going to test it in my mates PC tomorrow, he has Pc4000 RAM, so im hoping for a good outcome.

With PC4000 RAM you maybe limited by the board rather than the RAM...becusae it is rated at a slower speed, so is overclocking way more before the RAM is starting to be overclocked.
RAM:
Corsair
OCZ
Come the most highly rated, and the most expensive.
GeIL
Kingmax
Are also popular, at a slightly cheaper price.
If you can try not to buy any RAM at present, becuase prices are higher than usual.

So Blockers, are you recommending i buy better 3200 or higher? My current seems crap (to be blunt). Im at 246FSB and it is JUST stable with SiSandra memory benchmarks. Games run fine, even a lot better in some cases, but i think memtest would give errors or something.
EDIT: Tested with Prime95 and Memtest (thought memtest did what prime95 does! DOH!) and its stable! The RAM *seems" to have had a hard time adjusting to 246FSB. BUT, im currently sitting at 250FSB, 37 oC idle, and 3GHz (stable). RAM is not going to go much further, so still looking for new RAM. Oh and how does a 92mm Vantec Tornado(hooked up to a fan controller) and a Thermalright ThermalRight SP-94 sound? (Unanswered post)

Take a look here for a big PC4000 test:

I've got both the Adata 2x256 (earlier style) and OCZ Dual Channel Gold 2x256 and they're both excellent. Not sure if I'd pay the considerable premium for the top-of-the-range OCZ as the Adata is more than capable and is incredibly cheap for what you get.
Here's a good site for memory: http://www.hwzone.co.il/reviewseng.p...memroundup-eng

I didn't think there were any RAM speeds above 3200 that were JEDEC standardised yet. If not, then you aren't going to have "support" on motherboards unless you crank up the fsb.
