New build - can i use old PSU

I am going to build a new system, thinking of an 2500k sanybridge clocked to 4.6GHZ probably, with 8GB RAM and either an 6950 or GTX 560 for graphics.

I have a Tagan 530w PSU from my old system, could I still use this in my new build - the power requirements of the 6950 seem to indicate I can.
Would this be okay to use the old PSU (about 5 years old) - whats your advice, obviously I would rather reuse if possible as a PSU is not cheap, but dont want to get power problems either.

    Thanks

Hmm. I'd get a new PSU and a 6870 if I was you in order to be sure that it's all good. I mean a PSU can be had for £50 that would do the job...

It's a decent enough PSU, but even the best have a limited lifespan, and after a few years they're probably best replaced - no point in spoiling a shiny new build for the sake of a (relatively) few ££s.

for a nice new rig like that skimping on a new PSU is a crime. Look at psu's like:

i also agree, get a new psu, after 5 years, it will not be as consistent as a new one.
if it was an old or cheap system, i would say, yes its worth a chance.
but on a brand new expensive pc, this would be madness
