Static electricity cpu power and audio fuzz

    Hi,

I am getting horrendous ammounts of audio tweets and bleeps through my speakers when i use my motherboard audio slot it is doing my head in.

I know that it is due to components being close to the processor and electrical interference being picked up. I wondered what steps I can take to reduce this, how can I make sure that my motherboard is earthed properlly? I bought an insulated wire but no effect so I think it is to do with the board.

    Im running i7 920 on a gigabite UDR3 I believe.

Re: Static electricity cpu power and audio fuzz

This sort of thing is generally caused by noise on the earth from the various components inside the pc.

this may sound odd but try unplugging the case front usb and audio cables and see if the noise goes away.
