Worth a read for you Raven!
ahh fair enough, im not into folding so i couldn't comment
Yeah, dunno how much of a priority it is for raven.
While I'm not doubting the 2600K is a lot greener than the 920 i do question his PPD/W results.
Kalniel: "Nice review Tarinder - would it be possible to get a picture of the case when the components are installed (with the side off obviously)?"
CAT-THE-FIFTH: "The Antec 300 is a case which has an understated and clean appearance which many people like. Not everyone is into e-peen looking computers which look like a cross between the imagination of a hyperactive 10 year old and a Frog."
TKPeters: "Off to AVForum better Deal - £20+Vat for Free Shipping @ Scan"
for all intents it seems to be the same card minus some gays name on it and a shielded cover ? with OEM added to it - GoNz0.
Tbh, I am only folding on one of the 6870's at the moment but would include the cpu after the next build. Every little helps but I wouldn't be leaving the machine on 24x7.
I've been stripping a car this weekend so not had much chance of really getting the details of this. I want to get it right first time if that makes sense.
The P67 build does appear to be better value for the power you get but with issues on what add-ons I can use. The other issue is how many people appear to have issues with the Asus boards and while I have one at the moment, I have been struggling to get additional controller cards to work with it.
The X58 build looks good but there is a lack of boards with the right layout and while the MSI one would work, reviews of it have put it near the bottom in terms of performance and value for money.
I hate decisions like this....
might be worth holding off till Q2 when bulldozer arrives. then u can see what amd are bringing to the table. By then sandy bridge and p67 will be more refined. not to mention the price drop some competition will bring.
