    Or in other words, there's no real difference apart from quality, if you've got bad cables trying to up the speed isn't going to help.

    So 6gb/s requires more resending channels. you would think that the cable spec would be different, however not the case!!!

    Better quality cables make it easier to achieve the 6gb/s mark!!!

    No not channels, what it's saying is that it's sending the data packets faster, which increases the chance for a bad packet with poor quality cables, which will have to be resent.
    It's a combination of wire thickness, quality and shielding.
    Faster transmission times and smaller packets increases the sensitivity and makes disruption easier.
    it's an old issue with pc's (and on a side note it's why they don't use low nm fab chips in space)
