Can anyone recommend a sound card for Windows 7 that enables sound mix?

I've recently upgraded to Windows 7 from XP.

Under XP I was able to record sound from the web using Audacity. Mainly used this for making MP3's of live music off radio sites and so on.

Now with Windows 7 I can no longer do this. My motherboard is rather old now and there are no sound drivers for W7, the Vista ones install ok but don't work. So I have to use the drivers in the W7 database and although these work, they don't allow sound recording.

Can anyone tell me of a sound card that works under W7 well and that will allow me to enable the sound mix?

Around £30 would be cool, not really after anything special.

    Thanks

Current sound card is onboard sound on my Asus commando.

I'll give driver Genius a try, but I've already tried 3 different drivers so far.

How do I run the sound in XP compatibility mode?

    Thanks for the replies

I think you're going about this the wrong way. Have you tried the 'Stereo Mix' tweak? It worked for me. It allows you to record what you hear. I think this is what you're after...Otherwise I've misread the whole thread

By "tweak" do you mean showing the disabled recording options and enabling the stero mix?

If so, I can't do that as the option is not there. If that's not what you meant, was did you mean?

Yes, although I thought the steps I followed were alot longer.

I just have the onboard sound. So I suppose as long as you have drivers, any card will work.
