    I wouldn't get this 5850 if its the one you mean unless its really cheap:-



    The PSU seems quite expensive if its about £100; shave some off it and get a better GPU imo.

    From what i have read that board is pretty good, yeah i think im going to go for a 600w PSU now and maybe got for a better card, either the 6800 series? or the GTX480? but i dont know about the heat and noise issue?

    i have just heard that intel are recalling sandybridge becuz of the chipset issue.. should i decide on another CPU or wait till end of feb

    If they're the same price a 6850 may be a slighy better investment 'if' they can improve tesselation with driver updates. I got a 5850 recently and its really nice. In most tesselation benchies it seems to keep up with / draw the 6850 but without is the better card. At £200 the 560 is better than the 480 imo. This is a contentious issue though; I just don't think the heat/noise make up for the extra 10% odd. The 1ghz gigabyte card may be quite sweet.

    At each price point there are good cards now. A budget may get some more suggestions. I'm not upto date on SB unfortunately so can't comment.

    With regards ot the cooler frosty tech some nice reviews and have direct comparisons.

    Well if you're waiting keep an eye out for the new Be Quiet! cpu coolers, they look good (well with the black anodised aluminium top they "look" lovely), will have to wait for reviews to see how well they perform.

    So how beneficial is it to wait a month or so for the new chipset boards for sandy? or is it worth just getting an AMD phenom?

    Its worth waiting the extra to get the revised chipset. I could try telling you to wait and see what bulldozer brings to the table but I think your chomping at the bit to much to wait that long

    Ah cheers for the links fella, yeah i had ordered items before i found out about the chipset problem so now im going to have to have the stuff here but missing 2 crucial elements

    I think it is worth knowing that only 4 of the SATA connectors have problems. So unless you use more than 4 SATA devices, you shouldn't have any problem.

    Yeah but in the future if i want to use more.. then i will have to RMA the board once INTEL releases how its going to be doing it? and then id be without a board
