    Smile Reporting in.

It's been about half an hour since I've finished installing Windows and minutes since I've finished with all the additional hardware soft installations.

I think I owe it to you chaps, to have my first ever post from this new pc on these forums.
Thanks to everyone who helped my build this rig and save a few pennies while doing so.
Additional word of appreciation for Cat - without your contributions I wouldn't be using the pc I'm using now - you are in my opinion, a great part of this community.

Anyhow without further ado short picture summary:

Components + antec 300 out of picture:

First step with the PSU - with it being the first build I made, this is where it started to get fun !

Forgot to take some pics while mounting things on the mobo and mobo in the case - was too carried away So that's everything without cables done:

And that's the way it is now - cables really do need some more tidying up, but I will do that when I get 2 more fans for the case.

    P.S.
Bah no idea why pictures ain't working, nevertheless right clicking and opening seems to work :*(

    YW Cat
I got the superclocked one since as you know - budget and it was on sale for 135.
I heard it twice so far, both times while installing additional evga soft but not otherwise.
dling some games now to put it through the paces - it's not oced or anything now - will write here when I do and if noise is an issue at all.

Reason the pictures are not showing is because they are not actually jpeg images although it's ending in .jpg it's actually an html web page.

    the actual image locations are

EDIT: yes your cabling is a mess but I know what it's like, you want to get the pc up and running.

    Re: Reporting in.

    Cat
Just ran mw2 all maxed 1920x1080 no issues with noise whatsoever. This is ofc only mw2 - I'm dling bad company 2 next, then dow2 followed by napoleon and empire total wars (which should put a bit more strain on it) I'll update you how it performs on those.
In addition I haven't tweaked with evga precision tool yet - there seems to be a LOT of room left for increasing fan speed (it's at about 1/3 or 1/4 of max now) but I won't be touching that right now.

    Pob
thanks for explaining the image thing
As for cables - main issue is that the 2 fans have annoying cables which are right in mid of everything but i can still just tape those up, cpu cable from psu is also right in the middle of everything and too short to pull around properly ( same with usb and headphone/mic ... ill figure something out with some of em but I recon some will still be in the way

    Re: Reporting in.

Next step is to get a CPU cooler, then unlock and overclock the CPU, then overclock the graphics card.

    Re: Reporting in.

    Thanks!

So you got the one which vents the exhaust out of the case.

I am just asking as there are two versions of the card - the other one does not vent the exhaust out of the case.

    Re: Reporting in.

    cat
got it slightly wrong - i had it on minimal setting of fan speed (30 whatever it means )
yeah there is one with fan in middle and fan on the right - mine has it on the right - is it the crappier one ? (my guess it is)
if you are really interested in noise levels I can dl crysis/warhead again and give it a ragging on that (would have probably done it at some point anyway)

    nibbler
this is exactly the plan although I'm not sure I can afford new cpu cooler atm - skinnt as hell now (valentines )
I shouldn't risk unlocking or ocing with stock cooler should I ?
If not I'll just mess with card for now since that looks a bit easier.

The one you have got vents the hot air out of the case which I prefer TBH.

    Re: Reporting in.

Temp and noise is higher though cat, otherwise I'd have got this model. Although for your needs it makes sense, seeing as you need the airflow. I wouldn't do anything with the stock cooler personally, but monitor the temps and see how it goes.
