    Which ports are affected then, just as a recap. Only the sata 3Gb ports, and only some of them?

    Ports 0 & 1 are unaffected and the rest are.
    Sata III are unaffacted.

    indeed, im only using one out of 4 sata III atm so im not bothered about it

    yeah but cryptik how long are they gonna keep exchanging them ?
    i mean if you use it for a year, end up needing extra ports and then need to exchange may be they will tell u to bugger off ?

    The Sale of Goods act should cover that one. If it breaks there's plenty of proof that the fault was inherent.

    EDIT: All that program does is tell you which SATA ports you're using, it doesn't tell you whether or not they will brake. Gonna be kinda useless to most people on here...

    Why not just replace them as soon as the new motherboards come out?
    Scan promised that they would and that is why I decided to go ahead and get the new sandy bridge now instead of waiting till mid april early may.
