USB IR remote control

have recently bought a "WinCinema" ir remote off ebay. It uses usb and when put into my xp came up as "ir keyboard found"... anyway it works fine, but most of the buttons on the remote only work with wincinema, and this program is kinda crap. I was wondering if anyone knew of any programs out there that I could use with this to kinda hotkey the wasted buttons to do things with volume/winamp etc. I have found one or two for serial remotes but none so far for usb
