    Yep!

However, these laptops maybe shipping with the new fixed chipsets so I would check with Dell first.

It seems that the new XPS laptops have the faster GeForce GT550M:

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...M.42264.0.html

However, this is a rebranded version of the GeForce GT435M found in the old XPS laptops but the GPU is clocked higher:

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...M.35836.0.html

OTH,with your £700 budget you can choose between the Core i3 2310M in the new XPS laptop or the Core i5-480M in the older XPS laptop:

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-C...r.45318.0.html

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-C...r.41730.0.html

The Core i5 is not only clocked higher than the Core i3 but has Turbo Boost too. Despite the architectural improvements of the Sandy Bridge mobile Core i3 processors, the Core i5-480M is still faster IMHO.

Re: Recommend me a new Laptop

cool, i just spoke to someone from dell and said that there new xps 17 does include the chipset fix but as you said, the i5 is better than the sb i3.

i could not find any benchmarks of the 550m gpu though.

Also, the new dell xps 17 just released today
