"Never misused" - I beg to differ!!
Maybe he had an old broken board and figured he'd make use of it as a way of protecting the pins. I doubt it though.
I wonder if the board is for sale as well?
I checked whether he was selling a motherboard. Doesn't look like it.
Good god hopefully he just had a socket lying around rather than ripping it off the board.
I suspect the board he removed it from is now wholly inappropriate for purpose.
gets coat...
oh.....just oh lol
It's the new AM3+ system. It connects to the new system boards with sellotape.
Lol, tempted to buy it and complain that I can't work out how to fit it in my motherboard. :p
Well that is clealry nicked lol.
Lol great find. I wonder how he managed to get that off!
It's in the socket to prevent bent pins. The CPU is apparently working fine as described.
I guess if you can buy the board it came from - it would make a very handy jigsaw puzzle?
Really made me laugh that. Deserves a big red FAIL badge.
Of course, if could just be as others have said i.e. socket to protect pins but it's the first time I've seen it done like this, and the seller should have mentioned something.
Seller has listed a second one with identical pic...
