    Request!

I don't suppose anyone has an old Socket 775 P4 CPU do they? I have a motherboard I think is duff but I may be testing it with a CPU that requires more power then it can supply (mid spec Core 2 duo).

I am hard pushed to spend £15 on a chip from ebay for the sake of testing it, so was wondering if anyone had any lieing around? I'll happily pay for postage & will send it back within a day of receiving it. Any speed would work, just some mid spec p4 would be ideal!

I don't have any sort of Hexus rating, but if I did it would say I am definitely trustworthy, as long as it isn't' tall, leggy & blonde!

    Cheers guys

    Got a Celeron 440 - it's not a P4, but at 35W it's far lower power than any P4 as far as I'm aware

    Re: Request!

Actually the original P4 cpu's needed more current than the core2duo If I remember correctly.
it's hard to say because the actual wattage numbers for cpu's are not actually given and almost impossible to manually test.
The older p4's and cele did run at lower clock speeds (normally 200fsb)
The P4's where a higher TDP than the core2duo

    (ps I've got a 775 p4 3ghz kicking about if needed)

yup, not much use for actual power requirements but you can compare the TDP specs of the two chips on the helpful wikipedia tables:

Talking of which, I posted this to you today. Sorry about the delay, got caught up with a huge essay,

Think postage was about £1.86, made it up with stamps so I'm not exactly sure.
