Need Help - EIDE DVDRW not working

I have just moved my build over to a new case and everything seems to work fine BUT.

My DVDRW drive does not power on when the EIDE cable is plugged in. With only the power cable it powers up and appears to work fine (for a drive not plugged into a PC).

Tried master and slave parts of the EIDE cable. Nothing else on the power cable.

    Any help or experiences appreciated.

I know you've probably already tried but have you checked the master/slave/cable select jumper on the dvd drive?

I think its on auto; there is no jumper iirc.

After dancing around the case and dispelling any hex by liberally sprinkling chickens blood everywhere its now is working fine. I tried an old HDD which was recognised. Ah well; thanks for the help.

Re: Need Help - EIDE DVDRW not working

Well at least it's working. Sorry I couldn't have been of more help. It's always a pain when you have to resort to actual voodoo to make a pc work. Scares customers anyway
