Memory per physical cores
Just wandering but with the more cores you have do you need the same amount of memory to avoid bottle necks?
Like amd hex core requires 6 gb+ and core2quad requires 4gb+ and so on?
or is this not relative for example a Hex core will not bottle neck with 4gb of memory?
Re: Memory per physical cores
The memory is shared by all the cores.
Re: Memory per physical cores
It depends on the application you're running, not strictly the number of cores you have.

Bingo. You open up a billboard size image in Photoshop on a dual core system with 4gb of ram, it will thrash the paging file. You run cpu intensive app on a hex core with only 2gb of ram and if it stays within the confines of available memory it's fine.
Typically though the more threads you run the more memory you need but it's not a clear cut 'X cores = X memory'
