How do you tell if it's throttling will the speed on various programs such as MBM actually fluctuate in real-time?

best thing todo is run a game with FPS counter on, as the processor loads it heats, then as it overheats it throttles and your fps will drop

What HS/F are you using? I've got the Intel standard crappy one, and mine hits 65oC full load, at 250FSB. Sits in the low 30's after about an hour of being idle..... There again, i've got 4 case fans too.

I'm using intel stock atm, with only 3 case fans in a cheiftec alu case, has n e one got any recommendations as to where to put them? its at 60 full load, so i might put it to 230 and see what happens, lets see if my ram can go to DDR 460 Shall we?

    Dam it!

I kept getting this anoying beep from my mobo due to its health feature! so I desided to check the cpu temp, It was at 62 C. So I just decided to buy a Koolance external water cooling system!

    Dam Far Cry!

I have yet to order it though, My temporary solution was to remove the side cover! How much heat can my 3 Ghz handle? Perhaps 75 C? Not OC!

Well I've got a cheiftec Dragon case, and i've got 2 at the front (intake) and 2 at the back (exhuast). Needs to blow air through the case, not just into/out of it. So preferably, if you have the 80mm fan slots like i have, 1 intake on the front, and one exhaust on the back. Im guessing the 3rd fan is on the side panel?

sounds fine mate. I dont use the side fan though, but it shouldnt be a problem. Yea im quite blown away by my ram, had to RMA my TwinX and i've bought a gig of 3200 corsair value off my mate for £50. Its is running 250FSB like my TwinX did. Doesnt get 266FSB though (i will get 3.2Ghz!!)

EDIT : Thermal probes are the most accurate, but i dont use them so i can't recommend/help you out on that one
