Motherboard/case/cpu cooler recommendations for a small gaming PC

I'm after an small form factor gaming PC, i'm wondering if any of you guys in the know have any recommendations. Currently I have a GTX 580, a Corsair 550W psu, and a 2.5' SSD that will come from my current PC. I just need some info on parts that will fit with this setup in a small (possibly ITX if it will fit) case. This is based around the new sandybridge platform. Room for a 2nd large HDD is preferable.

If you have a standard ATX PSU ( which I'm assuming your Corsair is) then your case size will be driven by the fact that you will need to fit that in it. The Lian Li Q07 and Q08 are both ITX based cases that can take a full ATX PSU so I would start there. They ain't cheap though.

Some details on the Q08 here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cas...c-q08-review/1

Some info on the Q07 here: http://aphnetworks.com/reviews/lian_li_pc_q07

Both cases can take at least two HDDs so no issue there. Also AFAIK, both can take full height video cards as well if that's a consideration..

I would be careful that you don't end up getting a motherboard which is probably not a B3 revision.

IMHO,it would be better to wait a few more weeks until you are sure that you can get a B3 revision mini-ITX motherboard.

Not too sure on CPU cooler. Obviously shorter the better, but I quite like a quiet PC too.

I use this one in my ITX build

    http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/pro...ers/vf2000-led

Can regulate fan speed, good balance between low noise and cooling

Re: Motherboard/case/cpu cooler recommendations for a small gaming PC

I use a Silverstone SG06B case this model has a 300w psu but there is a model with a 450w psu. This case can also take full length graphics cards. I used a zotac mini itx motherboard with it and used a scythe big shuriken cooler (although it took a bit of effort to get the big shuriken installed)

The case uses a large fan with golfball blades to keep it quiet, but I also installed a fan speed controller to reduce the fan speed a little.
