What switch should I get for work?
I would be interested in opinions about what switch i should get work to buy. I don;t think we can stretch to Cisco gear (which I would love), my other experience of managed switches is my dlink however ports if left inactive "die" requiring the switch to be restarted, and as always dlink have never released updated firmware for it, but do have a new "revision", I don't wish to by a lemon for work so no dlinks. I find myself drawn to the netgears (never used a managed one though) are they any good?

Jumbo packets
CLI
Layer 2 managed (I have a bsd machine working as a router/firewall)
Decent support.
Under £1500
Port bonding.
What I would like (in the order of importance)
QOS (There is talk of voip)
Some POE ports
layer 3 management
What i don't need
Stacking.

I've got a Linksys (by Cisco - read into that what you will) SRW2024 - seems to cope admirably with what I've thrown at it. Has afaik, the things you want bar layer 3 management, and is available in a 48 port flavour. Be warned though, quiet was not something they thought of when they designed this switch.
