alienware Bios

Hello this is a very specific question.

I have a project of fixing the bios issue on an old-ish alien-ware laptop. A friends PC

I know enough that alienware have lock down the bios. I was wondering if its a waste of time or I can I re-flash the bios on them or is it a hardware issue.

emailed dell/alien-ware waiting on a response but I'll think they say I need a new MB. I'm not sure if if a corrupt bios or a broken chip.

if anyone can help that would be great.

NB pc turns on but say no bios detected and thats it. can't press f2 for bios cause noting happens

to start you would need to open her up and pull the hard drives and optical drives then remove the bios battery to see if it starts.

I'd try a power drain first, AC adaptor and battery out, then hold the power button for 15 seconds to completely drain the power, reinsert battery and AC try to power on.

having some trouble trying to take this laptop apart. will post back, I have since spoken to my friend he said the it shop he took it to said it was a fault bios chip.

alienware area 51m 7700 motherbaord
has a clevo d900t MB
i can't find a bios for it yet to reflash. need to finish taking it apart tomorrow, but a shop on ebay do sell new bios chips.

i think i just need to get the revision no. off the MB.
