This is going to sound odd but . . .
My Logitech G11 is really quite filthy. Would it survive a good wash in the kitchen sink if I took all the keys out and then left it some place warm for a day or two ?
It's getting to the point where if I turned it upside down we could all have crumble for afters !

won't a dyson do the trick

I would pop off all the keys and wash them in some warm water with mild detergent. The dishwasher could warp the keys if the water is too hot.

if its like the g15 you take the case apart and all the keys are mounted on the top lid, into the dishwasher on the 50 degree wash and out pops a new keyboard.
it can take weeks/months to dry out a washed membrane if you opt for lazy and wash the whole thing.
my g15 got darkholed and opened months later to see if i could fix it and found it still wet from the beer spill between the membrane.

Don't have a Dishwasher, but am thinking will take the thing apart and wash all the keys as suggested by Cat, would fairy washing up liquid do the trick ?

Yep and it is gentle on your hands too! :p
A soft toothbrush should do the job.
I would give the keys a good rinse after you have cleaned them.

Think that sounds odd; I've had my keyboard since 2011 and never cleaned it. Now this is filthy.
When I go on holiday I'll dishwasher it and leave to dry somewhere.

Jerome tears himself away from his screen and picks up a discreet mini-vac. He vacuums between the keys of his keyboard.

You keep your work station so clean, Jerome.

Next to Godliness, isn't that what they say?
Gattaca - probably the best keyboard cleaning movie ever made.

Prior to the days of cheap kb/ obsessive hording of components, I use to pop the keys, put them in some form of mesh bag(the mesh fruit is wrapped in from supermarket did a good job) and popped them in dishwasher. Re-attaching successfully greatly depended on the quality of kb

Like other have said popping off they keys and wiping the surface of the keyboard with a cloth and warm water for the keys worked really quite well, did this with a saitek keyboard a few times.
