My DVD-RAM is still region locked! help!

    hello,

I have looked on the internet for all the right patched flash files to unlock a sr 8585 dvd rom, but whatever i do, using 2 patched flashes for this model, my new dvd prezzy that is a region one is invisible in the drive!!!

i even changed the region in windows and the region 1 dvd (brand new and sealed) is still invisible!!!

i've tried the firmware updates and the software unlocker but my american dvd is still invisible in drive i.... drive i is apparently unlocked.... what do i do?

when you say "invisible" do you mean you can't even see the contents of the dvd ?

If that is the case, then the region is not your problem.

Even if your dvd has a movie with the wrong region to that of your dvd drive, you should still be able to see the files in explorer, just not play them.

You can also try a software package like DVD Region Free which eliminates the need to flash your drive. You can get an evaluation / trial version to check it out
