    Angry 5.1 sound

i got some 5.1 speakers today (logitech z-640), and i'm having problems with them and my NF7 onboard sound. what should be output on the centre channel is being output on the rear left channel, and what should be output on the subwoofer is being output on the rear-right channel, and vice-versa. I thought it might be the drivers, so updated to the latest nforce drivers from the nvidia site, to no avail.

    any suggestions?

edit: ignore this. i swapped around the connections for the rear speakers and centre/sub and it works

i see youve already found the solution that the two ports are marked the wrong colours i think its the black should be red and vice versa

I just got my 640's delivered from ebuyer. Loud and great sound. Ive got my sub knob turned down to minimum and my rents are still complaining from downstairs. Any way of turning it down even more?

why dont you try moving the sub somewhere else? if you can, put it on a cabinet/shelf (if you havent already), or if you cant, put something under it on the floor, to try to dampen the vibrations.

the other way, like directhex said, would be to turn it down in the os/media player

tried turning it down via the mixing panel in windows from my soundcard, doesnt seem to effect it at all. I can adjust all the other 5 speakers seperately but my sub doesnt change. Its currently sitting under my desk in a cubby hole on carpet.
