So ... I've got a server built on a Supermicro motherboard with an IPMI on the motherboard to allow remote power up/down and KVM via a webpage. Very handy when it's stuffed at the back of the loft.
I often access my home desktop (2500k based) from work via an SSH tunnel (to a Linksys NSLU2 FYI) and wake it from off with WOL. Trouble is, I can't use encryption because there is no way to put in the password at power on.
Question then: Anyone know of a desktop board with IPMI, or remote access to the BIOS screen that would let me put in a power-on password? It doesn't even need to be full IPMI if it displays the BIOS info as encrypted SSDs like Intel 320 use the BIOS disk authentication. I don't want to get into Workstation class boards (way too much power use/cost for my needs, might as well get another supermicro board)? It needs to be socket 1155.
Thanks all..
