    Congratulations m8.

As for the USB 2 drivers are you running XP SP1 because I'm sure Microsoft include USB 2 drivers with SP 1 or one of the updates. I didnt have to install any motherboard specific USB 2 drivers on my system although its probably different on other boards.

Urm, nForce2, you installed SP1 right and then installed the drivers on nvidias website for your platform? If you have you shouldn't really need to do anything else... there're though and i'll warn you a fair few issues with USB2 on the nForce2 chipset especially with external drives but i'm sure you'll run into them all in time if you are an avid USB2 user, i'm sure many people have no problems at all but many people do... however it's still being worked on only recently Abit updated one of their nforce2 boards with USB2 compatibility enhancements so maybe Asus will follow suit.

Congrats on your first build btw.

Sp1 is essential tho for USB2 to work, as has already been said. And congrats on a nice machine

It's working perfect, not every computer lists the exact same devices in device manager, obviously if the spec differs the items displayed in device manager will and also depend on the chipset what they're labelled as will also change. As someone else has already said if it's working stop worrying, aslong as you have no exclamation marks in device manager there's no need for concern.

Stop doubting yourself, you built your first machine and you've done it correctly.

it's not called USB2, it'll be called EHCI (or Enhanced Host Controller Interface, or similar)

    OHCI and UHCI are USB1

Works fine on win2k sp4, its a winxp not chipset issue (though I know the drivers arnt perfect, in any way).

It's a chipset issue, hence the limitation and inability to be able to boot from usb devices, www.nforcershq.com, read up.

The inability to boot up from USB devices is a BIOS issue as other nForce2 boards can do it.

plug in a ps2 mouse (cos windows is thick as **** sometimes), right click on one of the OHCI controllers, click update driver, then automatic. it'll search for and install a new usb2 driver, but... won't activate it untill you click "finish"

which you can't do if you have a usb mouse.

    pld, microsoft \o/
