    Question Performace difference...

    Hello,

I am thinking there would be a big performace difference between these to setups,

    P4 1.8Ghz 100FSB
    512Mb PC2100 RAM
    Intel Mobo

    AMD Barton XP2500+ 333FSB (what Mhz is a XP2500 ? )
    1Gb PC2700 RAM Dua Channel
    AMD Nforce 2 mobo

I take it the AMD system is alot quicker ?

    Wont be overclocking BTW.

    Cheers

AMD will slaugher that P4....as the 2500 will be pretty much the same as a p4 @ 2.5. And you have the 1gb of RAM.

I can confirm it once more, the P4 system vs. the AMD system will be like a pocket calculator against a Cray. I'd say it is beyond comparison.
Light travels faster than sound. Is this why some people appear bright until you hear them speak?

Yep if it needs saying again the AMD will seriously own the P4 even if it only had 512MB RAM let alone with 1GB

    Its not for me.

Its for my brother in his Shuttle system, he will not want to be messing around overclocking/tweaking etc
