    Random Crashes

    Hello everyone,

Well when i am gaming sometimes my computer just randomly crashes, sometimes it doesnt happen for weeks sometimes it happens twice a day. Like for example yesterday while i was playing assassins creed brotherhood i killed a guy and it just crashed, usually the screen goes blank and it just restarts and after windows has booted up i get windows has recovered from a serious error. I dont think i am overheating because i was monitoring my temperatures and my cpu never went past 46 degrees and my gpu never went past 56.

    Help?

    Re: Random Crashes

Make sure your system is set to not reboot on an error, that way if the sytem is detecting the error you'll get a BSOD instead of just rebooting and then will hopefully point to a problem - control panel, system, advanced system settings, startup & recovery and make sure there is no tick in the 'automatically restart' button.

If it's just plain old rebooting with no error message I'd be looking at the PSU as the first suspect.

    Re: Random Crashes

Have you tried using something like Blue Screen View: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html

I've used it in the past and it's pretty handy to get an idea roughly where the problem is occuring. It's not necessarily that helpful if you've got a hardware error, but I guess the usual applies. Make sure you've got the latest BIOS, drivers etc and go from there.

Well its says it been caused by ntoskrnl.exe and hall.dll
    so any ideas?

Edit : 04/05/2011 apparently i had a bsod and that one was caused by ntoskrnl.exe the one on the 10th was caused by hall.dll
