    I wonder if Advent laptops are still *very* poor in terms of quality and reliability?

    Tbh, I would think twice before buying anything from them, even if it's 200 quid...

    It depends on the model. For instance the Advent 7066M/Medion SIM2000 I have is a rebadged MSI and is made of magnesium alloy. It has given me years of service.
