    Sandybridge

Just made the upgrade from a q6600 and hopefully all will be awesome, any advise on this setup?

    Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD4-B3
    Intel i5 2500K
    4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz

Don't really know much about sata 3, is that only for new tech (SSD) or can i stick a normal HDD and get a speed improvement?

    Re: Sandybridge

You won't get much benefit from SATA3 from regular HDDs - they are compatiable, but speeds will be much the same.

Unless you intend to go for SLI or Crossfire (or just really like the black colour scheme), you could save a bit of money on the motherboard. Prehaps put the saving towards another 4GB of RAM?

    Re: Sandybridge

Are you making the upgrade or have already done so??

Bulldozer is being launched next month - hopefully this will mean prices will go down a bit for the Sandy Bridge CPUs.

On top of this I would get a Z68 based motherboard. Gigabyte is supposedly stopping production of P67 based motherboards in favour of ones based on the Z68.

    Re: Sandybridge

Yeh if your not going to go with the Z68 mobo's and still want to use the P67 ones then may I suggest the Asus P67 Sabertooth, brilliant board, good for overclocking too.
